She was the best neighbor to have growing up. One year for my birthday, her and Ted bought me a bridge so that I could walk down to their house to visit without having to jump across the tiny stream. When I was six, she was the one to share the news with me that our family dog, Dudley, had passed away; she was so kind and gentle. She taught me so much about the history of Dingmans Ferry, which she loved so much. I've missed her for a while now and am sad to hear of her passing, but thankful she is now at home with Jesus.

I met Jo Ann when I was about 16 and first impression was I loved her hair due. She pulled it up tight on top of her head and somehow made these cool curls in the bun. I remember the fun we had bowling together for many years and eventually became her neighbor for the past 38 years. She was a great neighbor! She never hesitated to help in a pinch to pick my sick child up from school (and laughed it off when they threw up in her car), and always was the first to call me when she saw something suspicious going on at my house since she had a birds eye view out of her kitchen window. My husband even put Christmas lights on our pine tree out front per Jo Ann's request. She loved mowing her field on the big John Deere tractor. I could go on with so many memories. I will continue to miss you Jo Ann! May peace be with Ted and the rest of her family.

Jo Ann and I grew up together in our small town. We spent time as teens helping at Delaware Twp. Fire carnivals. As adults we worked together with the Fire Auxiliary. She was always a kind energetic person, giving her time and energy to the different community organizations. My sincere sympathy to Ted and the rest of her family and friends.

I am so very sad to hear of Jo's passing. The Whittaker family and my family were close family friends all my years of growing up in Dingmans Ferry. Jo Ann and Teddy spent many happy times together over the years. Parties in their great rec room, tagging along for golf at Cliff Park and going on there excursions. She was a treasure and one of the few remaining family members from long ago. Wishing Ted love, light and peace.

JoAnn was the driving force behind the Historical Society for so many years. My heart sank when I read the news. My thoughts are with Ted and her many friends. I will always think of her fondly. Thank you so much JoAnn for all that you did to preserve the memory of Dingmans Ferry and the People of the Village. Rest in peace.
