Obituary of Richard Allen Caridi

Richard A. Caridi, 75, of Blooming Grove, PA, went home to be with his heavenly Father on September 12, 2023. He was born on February 2, 1948, in Brooklyn, NY. He moved to Pike County, Pennsylvania in the 1970’s where he and his wife, Bunny, raised their three children. Rich was a devoted husband and father who made a lasting impression on the hearts of all who knew him. His passion was his family, his community, and his love for Jesus Christ.

He is deeply missed by Alicia Caridi and her fiancé, Mike Evers, and their daughters Finley and Fife; his son Richard Caridi and his wife, Giselle Caridi, and their sons Jake and Rudy; and his daughter Alaina Mirabal and her husband, Jose Mirabal, and their children Matthew, Jackson, Layla, and Alessandro.

After obtaining his Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from St. John's University and serving in the United States Marine Corp, he began his career working for Proctor & Gamble and American Brands. He then owned and operated the Valley Quick Shop in Lords Valley. Throughout his life Rich volunteered for several community boards and associations, demonstrating his deep love for and dedication to his neighbors. His career led him to become the warden of the Pike County Correctional Facility where many came to know him and love him. He then served four terms as Pike County Commissioner.

In his free time, Rich loved being with his family and enjoying the outdoors. He cherished shooting clay birds with his friends every Saturday and took pleasure in a simple day chopping wood and tending to his garden. Rich so enjoyed spending quality time with his children and grandchildren. The family carries treasured memories of boat days on Lake Wallenpaupack, snowmobiling, trips out west, and being all together during the holidays. He and Bunny enjoyed their retirement talking walks on their property and just being together.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 22, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Wallenpaupack Area High School Auditorium.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Samaritan’s Purse in honor of Rich's memory.
