Jeff and I worked together in Manhattan after the first bombing of the World Trade Center back in the early 90's. We quickly formed a friendship and I am forever grateful for Jeffs kindness in inviting me to his home. I had the pleasure of meeting Beth and Stephan and enjoyed their hospitality. Sadly, I lost touch with Jeff over the years.
Beth, you and Stephan have my most sincere condolences on the loss of Jeff. May he rest in peace.

Jeff was the brother that I didn't have. That happened when we served together in the Marine Corps and in Vietnam but continued right to the end. My deepest sympathies to Mary Beth and all the family. Semper Fi my brother

On my second night in Viet nam I went on guard duty. I had been left behind to be a clerk at headquarters while everyone I came over with went out to line companies. My heart was in my boots when I walked into the guard mount shack. As I went inside I looked around. The guy on my left was holding a paperback book. “What’s an epilogue ?,” he asked to someone on my left. I turned to see what the answer would be and looked into the face of a marine in worn boony utes. The look on his face told me all
I needed to know about my new place in the corps. Without taking his eyes off my face in perfect Staten Islandish, “It’s a log made outta eppa,” came the reply. That Staten Island marine was Jeff Griffith. Over the next fifteen months I would get to know him as Griff . Over the years we got a lot of laughs out of the meeting of a new guy from Iowa and a salt from New York. I am going to miss those laughs.

It is with great sorrow and sadness I must offer my condolences to Mary Beth and the entire family for the passing of my friend Jeff
I met Jeff when I started a new job working for Cummins Engine company in 1976 and spent more then a decade working there with him and our relationship continued from then until his passing.
Jeff was very helpful to me as a new employee and we continued to help each other in our careers fixing diesel engines for the next 40 years.
Jeff was always a " can do guy " and I will never forget him for that and many other things.
The group of mechanics Jeff was a part of even received a metal for their accomplishment for rebuilding 30 engines in 30 days without help from machines, computers, or apps. but instead the skill and learned knowledge of all participating.
Jeff
Thank You for your service, Thank You for your help , Thank You for being a friend
Rest in Peace
