My heart is broken to hear about the death of Charles. My heart also goes out to Wendy, Mark, and the rest of the Strouse family.
Charles and I grew up together along with his brother Mark when we lived in Port Jervis. We had so many great times together and we always enjoyed playing video games together. My favorite is when we played Donkey Kong Country.
I remember there was a time in the late 2010's when I messaged him and we exchanged phone numbers. I called him up and we caught up on where we were in life.
Now part of me wishes I stayed in touch with him and talked with him more.
Charles, I'm going to greatly miss you. For what it's worth, I'm sorry I didn't stay in touch with you more. I wish I could've.
But I will forever be thankful for having you as my friend and for all the childhood memories we had together. I love you, man.
See you on the other side.

Charles was a sweetheart whenever I saw him. He was a Cub Scout with many in Matamoras, on the Little league team I coached and as a young adult always very respectful when I saw him. His path was troubled. His family was strong and Peace will be his.

The memories I have with Charles were many. The ones I think about most were the wiffleball games. It didn't matter who's backyard we were in, Grandma's, my childhood home or the home in PA. Everytime us cousins were together Charles was the first one to pull out the batt and ball, point at the peak of the roof, tap the batt on whatever we used as a plate and it was game time! Then after the game we would throw the ball around or just talk about life, our dreams, goals, whatever was on our minds at the time. He had one hell of a curve ball. The other memories I will never forget are the times spent fishing. Even if we weren't catching any fish he made it a good time. I remember when we were really young. We were all at a river for a family reunion. Charles caught a fish and would not go near it. He insisted it was a snake. I'm telling you when we went fishing it seemed like he could charm the fish in. He always caught something. Charles always picked you up if you were down, always had the right joke, funny made up voice, or over exaggerated face he'd make to have you laughing until you cried... he was a kind soul, a loving person, and a great cousin. I will remember and miss him. Uncle Mark, Aunt Wendy, and all my other cousins up there my thoughts are with you. I wish I could be there.
Love yall,
Adam Strouse
