We were heartbroken to hear of Art's passing and yet we rejoiced for him because, through many conversations, we knew of his love for his Lord and we KNOW where Art is now. He is experiencing a joyous homecoming beyond our imagination.
There will never be another Art Ridley. His kindness, generosity, compassion, and dedication to the worthwhile causes he served cannot be matched. His integrity was beyond question. If Art Ridley told you something, you knew it was true. If he said he would do something, you knew it would be done. If he told you he was praying for you, you knew these were not just words but that he was really praying for you.
In our filing cabinet there is a treasured "statement" from Art for work he did for us to help with our son's adoption. Art's fee was on the statement but, it was crossed out and, in Art's handwriting, the words "Good parent discount" were written across the page. Not only did his generosity help a young struggling family, but the encouragement of those words sustained us in difficult days ahead.
Art, you will be missed forever and appreciated always.

My condolences to Art’s family. He was an officer and a gentleman. A kind, humble man who dedicated his life to family and community. I remember our times as a member of the “Thursday Night Duffers” at Cliff Park. He could play! And always a joy to be in his company. RIP.

To my wonderful brotherArt and his family: I wish I could be with the family but more back surgery makes that impossible. When I was a young girl Art always looked out for me even from afar. His cards, notes and all else were such a delight in my life. He was a guardian for me and I always thought of him as a hero! I will always have you in my heart but I know you are in Heaven with Kenny. Rest in my sweet brother. Love, Patsy

Our deepest condolences to Jane and the extended Ridley family. Art’s warm welcoming spirit is a cherished memory when we moved to Milford from the west coast. Over the next decade he became our friend, attorney and brother in Christ. Art definitely was a positive bright light in our world. His sense of service to the community was a constant , as was his generosity and compassion. He brought all this together with his deep Christian faith and his intelligent wonderful dry and quick witted sense of humor. May he Rest In Peace and Rise in Glory!....Aloha, Ke Akua Pu.....Kimo & Deborah Kimokeo

One of the most cherished gifts in my life was being a friend of Arthur K. Ridley. He was one of the first people I met when I arrived in Milford in 1989. He volunteered at Grey Towers. Over the years, Art and I enjoyed teaming up to face off against Henry and David in a blood match in golf - I replaced one of his best friends, Bruce, after he moved (Bruce referred to him typically as Author K. Ridley). In sports, he was “competitive.” I mean Competitive. In the rest of his life, he was the most loving and giving human being I ever knew. However, in sports, he plays to win.
Art was a Christian. A real one. Not a Sunday Christian, or like me, an Easter Christian (every other year). He lived his beliefs . He was a servant. Second was his commitment to taking money from Henry and David. We won so much, and so often, I was able to buy a car for my wife. A used car.
Arthur leaves a hole in my heart that will take some time to heal. If there is a Heaven, Art is there. He is with his family who have passed, and hopefully, he has time to play a few rounds and brag how great he played on earth. He will beg for 18 strokes against St. Peter (a scratch golfer) Oh, and Henry says, “Art it was a 6 not a 4.” Rest In Peace my friend. You are the winner. So are we.

Butch and I have known Art for many years in two different times and places. He was truly a man of God and a man for all people and shared his life with anyone he came into touch with. Most memories come from military events held at Veterans Memorial Park and Education Center where Art acted as Master of Ceremonies many times. He spoke of his military life with pride and he served his country well. We also knew him through church. He was a lay speaker at the Barryville United Methodist Church many times and you could see his love of the Lord in the way he spoke and prayed and shared.
May God be with all his family and friends. May they find strength and comfort in knowing he is now with his son and his Lord and Savior. He will be missed. His smile and warm embrace will live on forever in our hearts and minds.

A great man. A great servant. A great American. Art touched so many lives with his ever present optimism, great attitude, and smile. As a fellow Academy graduate of that other Academy, may it be said well done our good and faithful servant. Be thou at peace. In Art's honor, GO NAVY!!!

To all the Ridleys, your husband/father/grandfather/brother was a great man, few of the ones left. Raised right and shining the light to all who knew him. As an attorney, he helped me tremendously when I needed it. As a person, he was always there to help someone. One of two brothers that I knew well and loved. Robert, prayers for your comfort and strength.
