Earl McCarrolll was a great teacher and a great friend to me when I was at Ithaca College. I will always love him for his love of Shakespeare, which he shared with me. We won't see his like again. And, as Shakespeare said of Romeo: "When he is dead, take him and cut him out in little stars. And he will make the face of heaven so fine that no one will pay worship to the garish sun." I met Earl 10 years ago doing the Census. He was such a pleasure to work with and a true gentleman. During the past 10 years I would run into him at the supermarket or Lowes and he would always be so friendly and kind. I was just thinking about him and I will miss those brief meetings.
