Gudrun K. Quinn, a life-long resident of Milford, PA passed away on April 15, 2020 at the age of 91. She was lovingly known as Goody by family and friends. Gudrun was born on December 25, 1928 in Elizabeth, NJ to her parents August and Louise Grampp. Gudrun was predeceased by her brother Albrecht Grampp and sister in law, Kathe of Hammonton,NJ, and her younger brother Harold Grampp. She was also predeceased by her son, William Quinn of Milford, PA. Gudrun is survived by her loving husband and best friend, John E. Quinn of 49 years. She enjoyed sharing the fond memory of the day she told her girlfriend that she had never seen a cow. Her girlfriend brought her to the Quinn Farm where she met John. And as one might say, the rest is history. They were married on April 10, 1971. If you spent any time in Milford, you would not see one without the other. Gudrun and John’s years together are marked by daily walks in Milford, golf tournaments, winters in Ft Myers, Florida, cross country travel, and trips abroad to Germany. As devoted fans of Penn State University, Gudrun and John also enjoyed many weekend trips every fall to Happy Valley to watch Penn State football. Gudrun is remembered by her loving nephew, Mark Grampp of Hammonton, NJ. She is also remembered by her brother in law, Jim Quinn and sister-in-law, Joyce; sister-in-law Centa Quinn; nephew Jim Quinn Jr and wife Linda; nephew Alan Quinn and wife April, all of Milford, and niece Diana Hissam and husband Ben, of West Chester, Ohio. She was also a loving aunt to many great nieces and great nephews. Gudrun also leaves behind her longtime dearest childhood friend, Arlene Russo of Sarasota, Florida. Gudrun’s childhood years were spent in Shohola Pa. She would recount the walks with her family in the woods naming all the types of trees and plants. Early spring they would swim in the cold Shohola creek. After high school Gudrun lived in Hawaii and Mississippi where she taught school and coached various swim teams. She is remembered for being a champion swimmer where she was offered a swimming scholarship in Hawaii. Her love and knowledge for the sport of swimming earned her the distinguished role as a judge for the Olympic trials. Gudrun is best remembered in Milford as a District Magistrate for Dingmans, Lackawaxen and Shohola townships. She served two elected terms until her retirement in December 1998. What brought Gudrun the greatest joy and contentment was spending time at home on the Quinn family property with John and their two cats, Rex and Cody. Rest in peace Goody. You are now with your Creator and Lord. Cremation and burial will be scheduled by family at a later date.
