Obituary of Richard C. Zirpoli
Richard C. Zirpoli, 96, of Milford, Pennsylvania, passed away at home peacefully on Saturday, December 28, 2024. The son of the late Joseph C. and Lottie (Wilczewski) Zirpoli, Richard was born on December 28, 1928 in Newark, New Jersey.
Richard was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
He was a proud United States Army Veteran and dedicated his life to hard work, service, and his community.
Richard worked as a self-employed carpenter, sheet metal worker at Atlantic Alloy, and glazier for C & J Glass, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
A devout Catholic, Richard served for over twenty years as a Eucharistic Minister at Saint John Neumann Parish, touching the lives of many with his faith and compassion. He was also a proud Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of the Mountain Council 9832, where he contributed to his community with honor and dedication.
Richard's love for his family was boundless. He cherished his time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always offering wisdom, support, and a warm heart.
As a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, Richard spent several years preparing meals to those in need, embodying his lifelong commitment to helping others.
He was also a member of the Italian American Club of Hemlock Farms, where he enjoyed connecting with friends and fellow members who shared his heritage and values.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Corrine A. Zirpoli; children, Richard Zirpoli Jr. and his wife Jeanne, Andrea Ochart and her husband Lawrence, Stephen Zirpoli, Carla Happle and her husband Thomas, Perry Zirpoli and his wife Pamela, Ann Furey and her husband James , and John Zirpoli and his wife, Michele; daughter-in-law, Karen McNamara; sisters, Charlotte Borresen and Alice Knichel; grandchildren, Joel, Andrew, Stephanie, Daniel, Antoinette, Hannah, Mariana, Thomas, Radu, Mercy, Joseph, Amanda, Jonathan, Alexander, Perry Joseph, Paul Jerard and John Michael; 17 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Catherine Zirpoli Williams, daughter-in-law, Paulette Zirpoli and brothers, Joseph Zirpoli and Paul Zirpoli.
Friends may call at the Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford Street, Milford, Pennsylvania 18337 on Monday, December 30, 2024, from 4 to 7 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint John Neumann Church, 705 Route 739, Hawley, Pennsylvania 18428, on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 10 AM with Reverend Edward Casey officiating. Interment will follow at the Milford Cemetery, Milford, Pennsylvania where military honors will be rendered.
Richard’s legacy of faith, service, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
