Obituary of John F. Kupillas
John Francis Kupillas, 77, of Milford, PA, passed away on December 12, 2024, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
John was a retired installer for New York Telephone in New York, NY, and a proud U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. He dedicated his life to serving others, acting as Chaplain for multiple organizations, including Marsh Kellogg American Legion Post #139, Mountain Laurel VFW Post #8612, VVA Chapter #623, The Marine Corps, and a local PTSD support group, where he was lovingly known as "Fadder John."
Born on June 13, 1947, in Queens, NY, John was the son of the late Julius and Mae (Pretter) Kupillas. On May 3, 1997, he married Patricia (Glover) Kupillas at St. John's Lutheran Church in Rutherford, NJ, beginning a loving partnership that lasted over 27 years.
John's family was his greatest pride. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; his children, Terijean Lardner and her husband Rich, Thomas Kupillas and his wife Erin, John Kupillas, Jr., and Jennie Powers and her husband David; and his cherished grandchildren, Thomas Di Como, Gaven Kupillas, Emily Piotrowski, and Julie Piotrowski.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford St., Milford, PA. A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Niels Nielsen, will follow at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. John will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Pine Grove Cemetery in Matamoras, PA.
Memorial donations may be made in John’s memory to the food pantry at Holy Trinity Church in Dingmans Ferry, PA.
John’s life was a testament to love, service, and community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
