Marek, Marzena and Karolina, I am so loss for words on the passing of Damian. I remember spending hours on the soccer field watching our kids playing and having a great time. Damian was a gifted athlete even at that early age. I remember conversation with you, Marzena about Damian and Karolina were being coached for swimming and how you enjoyed watching them both thrive in the pool. My heart goes out to you all and hope you can find peace in the memories , a life so beautiful and taken so soon. RIP Damian, another angel in heaven to watch over your family.

I was blessed to have known Damian through the NYU Swim team. His kind and joyous nature is something that I and everyone around him benefited from, and will continue to benefit from indefinitely. His unforgettable smile will always be a source of comfort in the face of challenging times, and I will always remember him for seeing the best in every situation and everyone.

Me and him used to play basketball all day and then go chill at the lake. We used to fish at the secret lake in the community too. One of the realest i’ve ever met. I’ll always cherish the memories I had with him. I remember him doing his 1 handed push ups at the courts and swimming across the lake like it was nothing. May he rest in peace.

We are so heartbroken for your family’s loss. We knew Damian as a young student in DV and through his beautiful sister Karolina. She always had great things to say about her little brother. May you find comfort from your family and friends during this sad time.

I had the pleasure of knowing Damian during his time at NYU. He was kind and incredibly dedicated--there was seldom a day I didn't see him at the gym. His consistency and easy-going nature were calming as we came out of the pandemic; regardless of what was happening in the world, Damian would be here first thing in the morning, politely asking for a towel. He was a dear member of our NYU Athletics family and will be dearly missed. My deepest condolences to his family.

THE TRAIN OF LIFE
At birth we boarded the train and met our
parents
and we believe they will always travel on out
side.
However, at some station
our parents will step down from the train,
leaving us on this journey alone.
As time goes by
other people will board the train;
and they will be significant
i.e our siblings,friends,children,
and even the love of your life.
Many will step down
and leave a permanent vacuum.
Others will go so unnoticed
That we don’t realize
they vacated their seats.
This train ride will be full of joy,
sorrow,fantasy,expectations,
hellos,goodbyes,and farewells.
Success consists of having a good relationship
with all passengers
requiring we give the best of ourselves.
The mystery to everyone is
We do not know at which station
we ourselves will step down.
So, we must live in the best way,
love, forgive, and offer the best of who we are
It is important to do
this because when the time comes for us to
step down
and leave our seat empty
we should leave behind beautiful memories
for those who will continue to travel on the
train of life.
I wish you a joyful journey on the train of life.
More importantly, thank God for the journey.
Lastly, I thank you
for being one of the passengers on my train.
As Damian steps down from my train of life, he leaves a permanent vacuum. You fought the good fight my friend and I take solace that you are out of pain. Keep looking up at that moon! May God bless you in your eternal life.
