Obituary of Patricia L Meyer
Patricia Louise (Flood) “Pat” Meyer, 87 of Matamoras, PA passed away Friday, June 7, 2024, at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, New York surrounded by her family. Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Walsh) Flood, she was born on March 8, 1937, and was raised in Bronx, New York.
She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School graduated from Bronx High School in 1955, then later attended Thorpe Secretarial School in New York City, New York to continue her studies.
Pat’s love for fashion and theater was evident from a young age. She began her career as a Salesclerk at Lord and Taylor on 5th Avenue, sparking a lifelong passion for clothing and accessories.
Her love for the theater led her to become a performer with the Tri-State Follies, where she showcased her beautiful singing voice.
Pat was the Matriarch of her family, organizing numerous family gatherings that kept everyone connected. She was the “Glitter and Glue”. She loved traveling with her husband, John “Jack”, exploring destinations like her mother’s birthplace in Wexford, Ireland.
A lover of Broadway shows and a fashion diva, Pat will be remembered for her vibrant personality, sweet voice, and impeccable sense of style. Her legacy of love, laughter, and togetherness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Last week, Pat and Jack celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.
Left to cherish Patricia’s memory are her husband, John Meyer; children Jacqueline Shinn and her husband Bradley, Patricia Coyle, Suzanne Ficken, John Meyer and his wife Jane; Scott Meyer and his wife Michelle; 12 grandchildren: Kirsten, David, Erik, Courtney, Sarah, Julia, Sean, Theresa, Daniel, Michael, Kelsey, Catherine; sister Rosemary Cappola and several nieces, nephews, close cousin, Elizabeth Cotteril as well as a host of many friends.
A private celebration of Patricia’s life is being planned for a later date.
