Obituary of Judith Brumbaugh

Judith Brumbaugh (AKA “Judy” and “Sarge”), aged 84, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2024 as a result of congestive heart failure. She was born on November 7, 1939 in New York and was the daughter of George and Esther Stout. She was a faithful wife to Bob Brumbaugh, who preceded her in death on August 30, 2023.

Throughout her life, Judy exemplified strength and the ability to make a beautiful life whether it was in Camp Hill, PA raising her daughters or Milford, PA in retirement years. She touched the lives of many with her unique spirit and generosity. Following high school, Judy majored in Home Economics at Penn State University. She was a member o fAlpha Omicron Pi Sorority. It was there she fell in love with Bob and Penn State football. After graduation, Judy and Bob married and she had a career with the gas company. She was known for her extraordinary baking and cooking ability and launched Holly Day Specialties cookie and monogram business with her friend, Andrea. While raising her daughters, Judy was very involved with supporting their organizations and activities like East Penn Band Boosters, PTA and other volunteer groups. Judy moved to Milford when Bob retired. She was very involved in the Milford Quilt Guild and Dingmans Ferry United Methodist Church. With the quilt guild, Judy developed her quilting skills and went on to win numerous awards and was able to teach and mentor other quilters. For her church, Judy ran an Easter egg candy fundraiser and trained other UM members to run it. Over her years in Milford, she made lasting relationships with neighbors and friends within the community. Judy moved to an assisted living complex in San Diego last October. She enjoyed Sunday drives with Kaley to see the waves, surfers, palms and birds of paradise. She was always surprised with people swimming in the winter and how different the coastal landscape is to Milford. Judy was happy to have had Thanksgiving and Christmas with her family. Judy is survived by daughters, Kaley McHale (Colin) and Susan Lytle (Michael); granddaughters, Emma McHale, Madison Lytle, Sophie Lytle and grandson, Julian McHale.
