Obituary of Jeanette Alvina de Geus
Jeanette Alvina de Geus lovingly known as Jeannie, 84, of Milford, PA passed away January 27, 2020 after a long battle with cancer.
Jeannie was born August 15, 1935 in Milaca, MN. The daughter of Olaf Pederson and Agnes Anderson-Russ. She married Joseph Jennino in 1954 and had five children. Later Jeannie divorced then married Jack de Geus in 1980 and lived in Milford, PA since 1985.
After raising her children and waitressing for many years, Jeannie went to CCM and received her Associates degree in Fine Arts / Photography. Later opening a Photography studio with her husband Jack in the town of Milford, PA in 1986 where she provided photography services to the local preschool and churches as well as Portraits and weddings. Jeannie’s love of gardening led to holistic gardening and becoming a “Master Gardener” through Pike County Extension of Penn State. Jeannie was an artist and avid reader. She is known fondly by family and friends for her paintings on canvas and glass. She enjoyed her eccentric style of floppy hats, fun butterfly earrings and her colorful socks / clothing. But, most of all, Jeannie loved her family.
Surviving are her five children; Joseph Jennino, Marie Jennino Bermingham, Debbie Jennino, Lawrence Jennino and Christine Jennino Thomas; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; her brother, Stanley Pederson and her husband Jack de Geus.
She was preceded in death by both her parents; brothers, Delbert Pederson and Linder Pederson.
Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by all who knew her and loved her.
Friends may call to celebrate Jeannie’s life on Monday, February 3, 2020 at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 W. Harford St., Milford, PA 18337 from 1 to 3 PM. Memorial services will follow at 3 PM at the funeral home.
Final interment will be at the Good Shepherd Church Cemetery, Princeton, MN at the convenience to the family.
