Joseph Anthony Sturno Obituary

Joseph Anthony Sturno passed away peacefully on March 31, 2024.  Joseph was born to Anthony Storno and Rose Bellarmino Sturno. He attended Saint Bonaventure Elementary and High Schools. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the Marine Corp where he proudly served his county.


 


Joseph went on to receive a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from NJIT and later an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University.


 


He enjoyed a long career in industry, always connecting to his passion – avionics. His professional affiliations included his memberships to the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the American Helicopter Society and the Army Aviation Association.


 


Upon retirement, Joseph and his wife, Patty relocated to Milford, Pennsylvania where he began a second career as a Real Estate Agent.


 


Joseph was a thoughtful, considerate human being, never hesitating to help someone in need. Even during his final physical struggles his kitchen table was a center of joy, entertaining friends and loved ones. He always shared his mirth and wicked sense of humor, making everyone feel welcome and at home. As long as health allowed, Joe never missed being at a Giants home game with his brother, Gerard.


 


Joseph is survived by his wife of forty years, Patricia McGirr Sturno; sons, David Sturno and his wife Lila Arco, Philip Sturno and his wife Kristina; daughter, Melissa Sturno; granddaughters, Annalise Sturno and Marielle Sturno; sister, Bernice DeFlora; brother, Gerard Sturno and his wife, Patricia.  He was predeceased by his son, Thomas Sturno and his sister, Edna Sturno.


 


Friends may call at the Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford Street, Milford, Pennsylvania 18337 on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 1 to 4 PM.


 


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM on April 4, 2024, at Saint Patrick’s Church, Milford, Pennsylvania with Reverend Joseph Manarchuck officiating.


 


Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Road, Matamoras, Pennsylvania 18336 with military honors.


 


Memorial donations may be made in honor of Joseph to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital by visiting (https://www.stjude.org/).
