Obituary of William Edward Thompson

William Edward Thompson (aka “Twisted” and “Boom”), 59 of Sandyston, NJ passed away peacefully at United Methodist Communities at Bristol Glen, Newton, NJ. He was a Graphic Artist operating TM Studios in Morristown, as well as Thompson Creative in Hainesville, NJ.  Billy was quite an athlete and enjoyed playing baseball, football and was a county wrestling champion. He was a 1983 graduate of Port Jervis HS and attended Kean College (University) where he was an active member of the Nu Sigma Phi fraternity. Billy enjoyed fishing and hunting with his father and the other members of the Tuscarora Hunting Club where he shot the 100th buck, a 10-pointer. He was a heavy metal enthusiast and enjoyed playing guitar and singing. 

 

The son of William Raymond Thompson and Christine Fountain, he was born October 12, 1964 in Newton, NJ.

 

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Jean (Serfass) Thompson, daughter Jessica Lynn Thompson and her boyfriend Cody Day; parents William and Christine Thompson; grandmother Wahneta Fountain; stepchildren Sheila Baumgartner, Bradley Serfass, Freddie Baumgartner III, sisters Becky Rosenkrans and her husband Kenneth, Sarah Harriott and her husband Bill, Rachel Chaiet and her husband Max; nieces and nephews Jenn, Alex, Matt, Mackenzie, Nate, Jaydon, Jocelyn, Natalie, Violet, Mika, Addy, Lucas; step grandchildren Savannah, Dominick, Alyson and Ryan.

 

A memorial service will be held at Minisink Reformed Church, Montague, NJ on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 12 PM with Rev. Michael Sweeney officiating. Burial will follow in the Minisink Reformed Church Cemetery, Montague, NJ.
