Obituary of Joseph Vincent Quattrocchi

Joseph Vincent Quattrocchi passed away peacefully on the evening of Friday, January 26, 2024, at home with his wife, Jane Himelfarb Quattrocchi, after a ravaging battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

He leaves behind his wife, Jane Himelfarb Quattrocchi, his brother, Vincent Carl Quattrocchi, his sisters in law, Janice Hall and Joanne Lugo, and his brothers-in-law Paul Himelfarb and Jose Lugo, and his numerous nieces, nephews, grand nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Angelo Nicholas (Charlie) and Mary Angela Quattrocchi, his sister, Mary Ann Quattrocchi, and his son, Joseph Vincent Quattrocchi, Jr.

Joseph was born in Brooklyn NY on April 9, 1945, and spent his youth in Deposit, NY where he was a star athlete.  He joined the U.S. Navy upon his graduation from Deposit High School and shipped off to Vietnam where he served four tours and was honored with two purple hearts and several commendations of bravery.  He came home on a motorcycle traveling from California to his parents who were then living in Staten Island, NY. Joe spent the next 32 years working for Westinghouse Elevator Corporation and Schindler Elevator Corporation as a construction foreman.  He retired in January 2004 and soon thereafter married his loving wife, spending the next 20 years living in Hackettstown, New Jersey, Palm City, Florida and Shohola, Pennsylvania.

Joe was a loving, generous man who had an inner light that brought joy and magic to all who met him.  He was the beacon of sunshine that we all aspire to become.  He kept his friends and family close to his heart and gave endlessly to anyone and everyone who needed anything at all.  He loved dancing with his wife to Ambrosia, riding like the wind on his Harley, creating hitch plugs, mowing his lawn, eating porterhouse steaks, eggplant parmesan with macaroni, and ice cream, watching the deer, bears, red fox, hawks or any other visitor to the house, petting his two cats, Mimi and Bugsy and telling the newest addition to his family, his puppy, Kevin to stop barking.  Joe loved his family and friends and his wife, who loved him fiercely.

Joe would not want flowers; he would want you to donate instead to disabled Veterans or to research a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.
