Obituary of Joseph Henry Brown II

Joseph Henry Brown, II of Northlake, TX and formerly of Greenwood Lake, NY passed away, January 17, 2024 in Dallas, TX. He was a retired Locomotive Engineer for Conrail for 35 years. Joseph was a parishioner of The Well Community Church, in Argyle, Texas and a member of the American Legion. 

 

He enlisted just after his 16 birthday into the U.S. Army Air Corps and served in Guam and the Army of Occupation, Japan.  When his age was discovered, he was sent back to the US and discharged.  He then enlisted in the US Army in 1951 and served as a rifle platoon sergeant in Company B, 3rd Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment during the Korean War.  During his military service he earned the Army of Occupation Medal with Japan Clasp, Parachute Badge, Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, Combat Infantry Badge, United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

 

The son of the late Joseph and Anna (Renner) Brown he was born June 9, 1931 in Jersey City, NJ. He was married to the late Regina M. (Socha) Brown.

 

Joseph is survived by his daughter Kathleen Brown Becker, son Matthew Joseph Brown, daughter-in-law Linda Brown, grandchildren Rachael Bender, Sarah Cruz, Jonathan Becker, Gregory Becker, Rebecca Smith, Laura Brown, Josephine Brown, and Theodore Henry Brown, as well as eight great-grandchildren. Joseph was predeceased by his son Joseph Henry Brown, III.

 

Funeral services will be held at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Milford, PA on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11 AM with Rev. Benjamin Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Milford Cemetery, Dingman Township, PA with military honors.
