Obituary of James A. Slater
Loving husband and father James A. Slater of Milford, PA, passed away January 4, 2024, at home. He was 74 years old.
The son of the late Robert and Ethel (Hawker) Slater, he was born on February 26, 1949, in Narrowsburg, NY.
Jim, as his many friends knew him, worked as a construction supervisor. Earlier, James worked as an interior finisher for Martel Homes in Sparrowbush, NY for 33 years and worked Resort Construction in Milford prior to that.
Jim enjoyed archery shooting with his son Christopher, NASCAR, fishing, and hunting in his younger years. taking care of the yard and creating wood creations for his home. He loved playing with his dog Fancy and feeding the deer.
Left to Cherish his memories are his loving wife Elisa Slater; his son Christopher Slater, who was the light of his life ,his dog Fancy; Daughters Sara Kohut and her husband Ron, Courtney Radosti and family; Son Brenden Slater; stepson William Stagen and his wife Megan and daughter Luna; sister, Laurie McAllister and husband Craig of Florida; brothers-in-law, Donald Crowe, Robert Crowe, Peter Crowe, John Mykalosky, Allen Bouchard; sisters-in-law Kathy Mykalosky, Donna Bouchard, Cathy Crowe, Joan Crowe, many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
The Slater family would like to thank the Dingmans Fire Department and Hemlock Farms EMT for their diligent effort, and caring support.
The receiving of friends will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 2 to 5 PM at the Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford Street, Milford, PA 18337.
Memorial services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 3 PM with Reverend Keith Raser officiating.
