Obituary of Ronald Lester Lauver Sr.
It is with great sorrow that the family of Ronald Lester Lauver, Sr., report his passing on Monday, December 4, 2023, while on hospice at home with his loving wife by his side. He was 81 years old.
He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Ronald was a proud United States Army Veteran, having served from 1959 until 1962. He worked as a Network Engineer for Bell Labs in Holmdel, New Jersey. He then opened and ran his own business, System Designs, in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey as a computer analyst and programmer for over 40 years. He was a member of Future Farmers of America.
In his free time, Ronald enjoyed woodworking, fly fishing, gardening and spending time with his family.
The son of the late Clarence and Betty Jo (Steele) Lauver, Ronald was born on March 1, 1942, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. On March 5, 1963, he was married to Patricia (Mannino) Lauver at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church in Oakland, New Jersey.
Ronald leaves behind his loving wife, Patricia Lauver; children, Ronald L. Lauver, Jr. of Sussex, New Jersey, Lisa A. Gluszak and her husband Philip of Warwick, New York, Jeffrey L. Lauver and his wife Michele of Denville, New Jersey and Christopher L. Lauver and his wife Jessica of Fair Lawn, New Jersey; sisters, Becky Bennett and her husband Leroy of Danville, Virginia, Betsy Evano and her husband Wayne of Williamsport, Pennsylvania and Mary Daugherty of Montgomery, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Larissa Fernsler and her husband Shawn, Lucas Gluszak, Linsay Gluszak, Camryn Lauver, Samuel Lauver, Elizabeth Lauver, Casey Lauver, Griffin Lauver and John Lauver; great grandchildren, Shawn J, Theodore and Brody; brother-in-law, Frank Mannino and his wife, Nancy of Bunnell, Florida and sister-in-law’s, Diane VanAlstyne of Wanaque, New Jersey and Cynthia D’Ascheberg and her husband Michael of Palm Coast, Florida; Ronald also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
Ronald was predeceased by his parents, Clarence, and Betty Jo Lauver; brother-in-law’s, George Daugherty, and Frederick VanAlstyne.
Cremation was private at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford Street, Milford, Pennsylvania on Monday, December 11, 2023, from 12 to 1:30 PM. Memorial services will follow at the funeral home at 1:30 PM.
