Obituary of James Peter Froehlich

James Peter Froehlich, age 83, of Milford, PA passed away Friday, October 13, 2023, at home. He worked for the Social Security Administration in the NY area. He retired as Associate Commissioner for Assessment, overseeing operations in NY, NJ, and Puerto Rico. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Milford, PA. He was a member of the American Legion in Milford, PA. He was a commissioned officer in the US Army. He served as a Scoutmaster for Cub Scout Pack 168 in Rutherford, NJ. He was a baseball manager for Rutherford Little League (Texas League). 

The son of the late Oscar J. and Barbara R. (Hickel) Froehlich, he was born September 9, 1939, in Irvington, NJ. He was married to the late Carol A. (Ruffer) Froehlich.

James leaves behind two sons, James A. Froehlich (Spouse Kay Froehlich), Peter A. Froehlich (Spouse Maggie Froehlich); daughter Joan Froehlich; grandchildren: Aidan, Frances, Henry; sister, Pauline Higgins, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford St., Milford, PA on Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 3 to 5 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, Milford, PA on Monday, October 16, 2023, at 10:30 AM with Rev. Anthony Giacona officiating. Burial will follow at Milford Cemetery, Dingman Township, PA with military honors.
