Obituary of Ann Bernathy

Ann Bernathy, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, was called home on Saturday, September 9, 2023, where she was greeted with open arms by her husband, Robert Bernathy who died in 2021.

Ann had a passion for dance, which she generously shared as an instructor at the Ann Bernathy Dance Studio in Milford for over 40 years. Ann taught dance to over 2,500 students in the Tri-State Area and had 3 generations of students come to her for dance lessons. Her students and everyone who knew and loved her called her Annie Bannannie. Ann would put on a recital once a year to a packed house at the Delaware Valley High School Auditorium and donated all the proceeds to the Delaware Valley Drama Club.

The daughter of the late Harry and Helen (Yedsena) Rafferty, Ann was born on September 14, 1939, in Gilberton, PA. She was married to Robert Bernathy on December 28, 1963, and celebrated fifty-seven wonderful years of marriage up until his passing in 2021.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Robert Bernathy, Barry Bernathy, grandchildren, Payton, Robert and Brianne and brother, Francis Rafferty.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Ann on Saturday September 30^th, 2023 at 11 AM at the Saint Patrick’s Church, 200 East High Street, Milford, PA with Reverend Joseph Manarchuck officiating.
