Joyce was my friend for 70 years. Her husband John and my husband Jim were brothers. We met in high school and when Jim was taking me to his Junior Prom, Joyce insisted we come to their house on the way so she could see us and take pictures.....I still have those pics. We eventually became sister in-laws and I cherish all those years with my friend. Whenever, wherever you visited with her, you always felt welcome in her life of the moment.
She was a great cook and you could not leave her house without "a bite to eat"....and when you left you felt rather FULL. She was very good at communication. In these later years we used the phone, but starting in the 1950's she never forgot to send cards, for all holidays, if needed to get well a card arrived, as well as all those birthdays in all those years. She would write notes in those cards but also wrote many letters. Got so stamps were a welcome Christmas gift to her. I remember visiting her a few years ago and she would get up in the morning and do her devotions...... Reading her Bible through several times.
I will cherish the memory of her and know that she will brighten up Heaven when she arrives.
