Condolence's to Ethan's Family and his extended family in the old car world.
I met Ethan in 1965 after he had finished his 1930 Model A Ford Cabriolet restoration and was moving on into the world of ACD. I was about to buy my first Model A. Ever since when a car project got 'too deep', Ethan was always there for assistance & guidance. Been that way since back then.
If we missed each other at Hershey, there always was the post Hershey phone call to catch up.
Years later Ethan bought back his original Ford Cabriolet and little by little the 'how to do' phone calls started coming to me.....BUT I was always his 'oldest' student ! Finally it was such a pleasure to offer to Ethan, 'Bring the car to me'. He did.
Ethan was one of my earliest mentors in the old car hobby. That molding is who I am so Ethan will never be truly gone, he will always be with me.
Best to Jason & Lisa, Jim Brand

To the Family of Ethan Turner,
It's been several years since I last saw Ethan in the car corral at Hershey, but we were both walking more slowly than we did a half-century earlier.
I recall a Board Meeting of the Greater NY Region AACA, held at the Turner home in West Hempstead. While Ethan conducted the meeting, I held six-month-old Jason, and his bottle, with Lisa looking on, while Eva attended an exercise class. You can determine the year if you know Jason's age...
Ethan Allen Turner was a Big Man in our hobby, in more ways than one. We who survive will miss him. May he rest in peace,
With sincere condolences,
Jack Bruderman

This is a sad shock to be sure. I have thought of Ethan many times through the years. We shared the love of old cars, but especially the Studebaker Avanti. Indeed back in 1966-ish I was working at a Crown gas station in the Gibson portion of Valley Stream, the owner was a man named Armand, and Ethan had his red '63 R-2 4 speed Avanti there for service. From there we found ourselves checking out Avantis that would come up for sale within the greater Long Island area, we went to see one that was covered in what seemed ten pounds of blankets as the owner had passed away and the family was attempting to liquidate the car.
I lost contact with Ethan towards the end of 1968 as I moved to Florida to attend college. Maybe 15 yrs ago I found Ethan via the internet and reached out.
To the Turner family please accept my sincerest condolences..........Ethan may you rest in peace and enjoy all those perfect cars in heaven

Many great memories with Ethan. Judging, restoring, traveling, Ethan always had time to answer (in detail) any questions I had. Rest in peace my friend.
