Obituary of Martin J. Pozsonyi
Martin (Marty) J. Pozsonyi entered into eternal life peacefully and restfully on Monday, April 10, 2023, after a long illness. He was 72 years old.
Born September 13, 1950 in Somerville, NJ, he was the son of William L. and Josephine Dietro Pozsonyi. Martin was predeceased by his brother, William L. Pozsonyi, Jr.
He lived in Manahawkin, NJ, before moving to Dingmans Ferry, PA in 2019.
Mr. Pozsonyi was a gifted custom cabinetry maker having owned his own business, serving many families and businesses in New York City, and New Jersey, and retired after 40 plus years in 2019.
He was an avid hunter for many years creating memories with his family and friends, and enjoying the preparation and cooking of the game.
He loved fishing and enjoyed preparing his catch with a favorite recipe or trying out one of his own. Cooking was a great passion of his, especially during the Christmas Holiday having cooked the “Seven Fishes” Christmas Eve Dinner for several years. He delighted in spending time with his grandchildren at the shore.
Martin grew up in Bound Brook, NJ surrounded by a large family sharing many memories on North Street.
Mr. Pozsonyiis survived by his wife, Maria, his daughters, Aimee Hoch and her husband Aaron, Robyn Sciarabba and her husband Marc; his sons, Kenneth Dupuis and his wife Tara, and Robert Dupuis; and six grandchildren, Sophia and Jillian Hoch, Evan and Josephine Sciarabba, and Julien and Calvin Dupuis.
A celebration of Martin’s Life will be held at a later date.
In memory of Martin, donations may be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
