Very sorry to learn about John's passing. I have many favorable memories of him and Goody. He was a gentleman of goodwill but could be feisty. An incident comes to mind. It was during the time I edited the Pike County Dispatch. We ran a filler article from the Pennsylvania Dept. of Agriculture about heritage farms in the Commonwealth. It stated there were none in Pike County. John called, asking indignantly, "What about the Quinn farm?" Apparently, the farm had been omitted from the heritage registry because it was no longer a "working farm" that produced agricultural goods. "Oh," he said. "Well, maybe not anymore, but there was sure a lot of work that took place over the years, Probably more than has happened in the Agriculture Dept." I could not help but agree with him, as I laughed. RIP.
