I worked with Marie at PS 21 in the Bronx. We taught 2nd grade together. They were wonderful years, and I will never forget her. She was a creative, compassionate, generous person both in and out of the classroom. Rest in peace, Marie. My condolences to the Gramble family.

My deepest condolences to Harry and family. I did want to share my first memory of meeting Marie.
When I first met Marie, she was sitting in a wheelchair at her sister in law, Linda's, house with a small dog on her lap. I had stopped by Linda's house for a yard sale benefiting cancer research. I remember clearly the smile on Marie's face and that mischievous twinkle in her eyes and I knew immediately she was my kind of person! I so enjoyed my time with her that first day we met talking about animals and school...and children in general. Whenever I think of her, I will always have a smile on my face and a little happy dance in my heart, knowing what a beautiful person she was.
