Obituary of Jane Seely Westra

Jane S, Westra, 92, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2022, at Belle Reve in Milford, Pennsylvania after a long illness.

Jane was born in Newton, New Jersey on October 7, 1930, and was a graduate of Newton High School Class of 1949.  She was a twenty-five-year employee of the Sussex County Library System where she was supervisor of the non-professional staff at the Main Branch in Frankford, New Jersey

A dedicated member of the Eastern Star, Jane enjoyed many years of service within that organization.  She loved living in Sussex County taking advantage of all it had to offer.  She was a loyal attendee of the Sussex County Farm and Horse Show where she sat many hours in her box seat enjoying the horses.  Travel and leisure were high on Jane’s list as she visited many wonderful places and wintered on Casey Key in Florida.

Predeceased by her parents John E. and Mary Seely, her loving husband, John G. Westra, and brother Jack Seely, Jane is survived by her sons Jay Westra and wife, Mary Jane, and H. Jeffrey Westra, Daughter-in-Law, Tami, and brother, Robert Seely.

Jane’s biggest joy, by far, were her five Grandchildren: Aaron Westra and wife Becky, Nicole Westra-Chew and husband Winston, Ashley Nitto and husband Billy, Ryan Westra and wife Courtney, Devon Shenise and husband Michael.  She loved watching them grow while attending all milestones of their lives.  She is also survived by her five Greatgrandchildren: Ethan, Sutton, Tanner, Tighe, and Hayden.

A private interment will be held at a later date.  Memorial donations may be made to the Andover Cemetery, P.O. Box 691, Andover, New Jersey 07821.
