Obituary of Michael J. Gruodis

Michael J. Gruodis, 51 of Milford, PA passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at home. Michael along with his wife Stephanie have owned and operated The Artisan Exchange, Milford, PA since 2009. Michael has left a legacy of love and compassion and will be dearly missed by his family and community.

Michael was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on April 5, 1971 to Victor and Carol (Martin) Gruodis. He met the love of his life, Stephanie (Pahl) Gruodis through mutual friends. They were married on October 9, 2004 in Bear Mountain, NY. Michael’s love and mastery of woodturning paired with Stephanie’s love of crafts inspired them to create The Artisan Exchange. His warm smile and gentle nature always welcomed anyone who visited the store. Michael was an avid supporter of local artisans and the Milford business community.

Michael is survived by his wife Stephanie; daughter Elizabeth; father Victor and his wife Ausra; sister Cathy Reicheg and husband Al, Stephanie’s brother Andreas Pahl and wife Deb; as well as 5 nieces and nephews and numerous family members and friends. His sense of humor and laughter will be missed by all.

A viewing will be held at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford St., Milford PA on Monday, August 22, 2022 from 5 to 7 PM and Tuesday, August 23, 2022 from 10 AM to 12 PM. Funeral services will be held at Stroyan Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 12 PM with Niels Nielsen officiating. Burial will follow in Milford Cemetery, Dingman Township, PA.
