Obituary of William Joseph Hoare

William Joseph Hoare, 77 of Greeley, PA passed away Friday, February 4, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. He was retired as a Structural Engineer in the SEMAC division of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Bill was a parishioner of St. Ann’s Church, Shohola, PA, a member of the Knights of Columbus and Knights of Columbus Bowling League, Brooklyn, NY and member of the Wyoming Coin Club. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving as a Ranger from 1965 to 1967 and in the Army Reserves from 1967 to 1971.  He was recently appointed Laird of a small property in Scotland.

 

The son of the late James William and Harriet (Wallace) Hoare he was born July 1, 1944 in Brooklyn, NY. He was married to Patricia (Donnelly) Hoare on April 12, 1969 in Spring Valley, NY.

 

Bill leaves behind his beloved wife of 53 years, Patricia; three daughters Patricia Hoare Greenhalgh of Andover, NJ, Jennifer Hoare of Hackettstown, NJ and Aimee Hoare Bem of Greeley, PA; grandchildren Katy, Harry, Billy, Marcia, Mackenzie, Mary-Kate, Crystal; sister Brenda Hoare Sands; sons-in-laws Harry Greenhalgh and John Bem; many nieces and nephews and his cherished Husky, Sierra. He was predeceased by his brother and sister James M. Hoare and Theresa Muriel Hoare

 

A viewing will be held at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford St., Milford, PA on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 9 to 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Church, Shohola, PA on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 11 AM with Rev. Edward Casey officiating. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Shohola, PA with Military Honors.
