Obituary of Elizabeth A. Carlen

Elizabeth A. Carlen, 65, of Milford, PA passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021, at home. After teaching for 30 years, she retired from Minisink Valley High School, Slate Hill, NY.

 

The daughter of the late Richard and M. Marie (Sweigert) Burtnett, she was born on January 31, 1956, in Altoona, PA. She was married to Christopher Carlen on September 9, 1978.

 

Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Christopher Carlen; daughter, Anna Hanulak and her husband, Brandon; grandson., James Hanulak; sister, Joyce Johnson and her husband, Jeffrey; brother, Richard Burtnett and his wife, Susan; niece, Meghan Johnson; nephew, Luke Burtnett and sister-in-law, Judi Burtnett.

 

She was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Burtnett and nephew, Mathew Burtnett.

 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 W. Harford St., Milford, PA 18337.

 

Visitation will be held from 12 to 1 PM on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at St. Michael the Archangel Parish, 301 Spruce St., Hollidaysburg, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 PM. Burial will be at the Greenlawn Cemetery, Hollidaysburg, PA.
