Obituary of Edward J. Biel

Edward J. Biel, 75, of Milford, PA passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Newton Memorial Hospital in Newton, NJ. He was a retired salesman for Con Edison in New York City, NY. Ed was a graduate of Baruch College and proudly served in the United States Marine Corp Reserve. Ed was a devoted parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Dingman Township.

 

Ed was a member of the Knights of Columbus-Our Lady of the Mountain Council #9832, and served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Vincent de Paul Parish. Ed also co-taught Religious Education for many years at St. Vincent’s with his wife Marie. Ed had a great personal devotion to the Blessed Mother and was always willing to share this in conversation; he also volunteered at St. Agatha’s Homeless Shelter during the time he lived in Brooklyn. Ed loved music and was a professional musician for a time, playing both Saxophone and Clarinet in a Polish Polka Band. He served on the Board of Directors for the Tri-State Pregnancy Center for several years. Ed was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, jig-saw puzzles, and playing Boggle each Sunday afternoon with his wife Marie.

 

The son of the late John and Sophie (Jendrzejewska) Biel he was born March 27, 1945 in New York City, NY. Ed married Marie (Luscavage) Biel on September 9th, 1967 in Brooklyn, NY.

 

Ed is survived by his wife, Marie; sisters, Stacey Wolski and Jane Fitz. Ed is also survived by nephews John Wolski, Lenny Wolski, and Steven Fitz, as well as nieces Carolyn Saranchak, Gloria Wolski, Karen Johnson, Christine Rubenstein and all of their children.

 

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 101 St. Vincent Dr., Milford, PA on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 11 AM with Rev. John B. Boyle officiating. Graveside services will take place in Milford Cemetery, Dingman Township, PA on Monday, October 4, 2021 at 11 AM with Rev. John B. Boyle officiating.
