Uncle Peter was a very funny and outgoing man. My strongest memory of him is that he teased me every time I saw him even as an adult about my preschool bully- I'm now 33 years old. He loved to keep the joke going and I thought that was pretty funny and will miss him asking me about her. He was so proud of his grand kids, Aaron and Rebecca, and talked about them and their accomplishments all the time. I will miss him as will our whole family.

Peter and Janet have been Ellen and my Maine neighbors for the past 11 years. We would run into each other in that casual way neighbors do, standing in the yard between our cottages to catch up on things. There were many times that we would go out and share a meal together, or visit for a glass of wine. We shared old stories and made new ones. Peter always had a smile to share and an appreciation for friends, and food, and views. There are insights that Peter shared with me in word and deed that have stayed with me for many years and I think will continue to. I am so glad to have gotten to know him a little and will miss him.

Peter was a great cook and loved food. It was always a treat to come to Wonderview when Peter and Janet were there because many times Peter would cook us a meal of mussels that Janet had gathered from the ocean in front of their cottage. She would gather them and bring them back, Peter would do his magic and make the most delicious steamed mussels in his special cream sauce with wine and garlic and some "secret ingredients", that made bread dipping amazing. And, Peter's stuffed clams...well, what can I say...the best ever The amazing thing was that Peter not only loved eating good food, he loved preparing it for others and watching them enjoy his cooking. He was a wonderful man and a great friend and I will miss his delightful smile and kind hospitality.
