Obituary of Joan I Schaeffer

Joan I. Schaeffer, 95, of Dingmans Ferry, PA passed away at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ on June 11, 2021. She graduated from Elizabeth General Nursing School in 1946, worked as a Registered Nurse for Elizabeth General Hospital, NJ and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, Milford, PA.

The daughter of the late Ernest and Isabelle (Cookson) Campbell, she was born on November 20, 1925 in Canada. She was married to Richard G. Schaeffer who preceded her in death on September 10, 2020.

Joan leaves behind her son, Gary Schaeffer and his wife, Kathy; daughter, Gail Ciandella; grandchildren, Michelle (Ciandella) Hills and her husband Steve, Ashley (Schaeffer) Porter and her husband Robert and Jason Boggs and his wife Cheryl; four great-grandchildren, Jay Thomas, Drew Porter, Luke Porter and Samuel James Porter and sister, Patricia Thompson. She was pre-deceased by her son Gerard Schaeffer and her brothers Harry Campbell and Ernest Campbell, Jr.

Friends may call at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 W. Harford St., Milford, PA 18337 on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 11 am to 1 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2 pm Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at St Vincent de Paul Church, 101 Saint Vincent Dr, Milford, PA 18337 with Rev. Joseph Manarchuck officiating.

Burial will follow at Delaware Cemetery, Dingman Twp., PA 18328.
