Obituary of Richard D. Young

Richard D. Young, 85, of Milford, PA passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Newton Memorial Hospital, Newton, NJ. He was a Supervisor for Conrail Railroad and was a United States Army and United States Navy Veteran serving from 1958 until 1989. The son of the late Charles and Bertha (Stetson) Young, he was born on May 21, 1935 in North Bergen, NJ. He was married to Geraldine (Opeckun) Young on May 6, 1961. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Young; daughter, Christine Young-Gallagher and her husband Mark; son, Charles R. Young and his wife Holly; grandchildren; Morgan Nachtigall and her husband Joshua, Jessica Young, Cheyenne Franklin and her husband Zachary, Amanda Gallagher, Steven Gallagher, Gregory Gallagher and great-grandchildren, Owen and Maren Nachtigall. Friends may call at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 W. Harford St., Milford, PA on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Due to the current guidelines, guests must follow state guidelines by wearing a mask and practicing social distancing. Funeral services will be held 10 AM at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 with Rev. Joseph Manarchuck officiating. Burial will be at Milford Cemetery, Dingman Twp., PA.
