There was no doubt that Aunt Grace and my grandfather were siblings! They both loved to socialize and could not stay still when music was in the air! Throughout the week I have had flashbacks of wonderful memories at birthday parties, graduation parties, and weddings and of course Aunt Grace is always at the center. It didn’t matter if if was a traditional wedding song or 2000s rap- she was dancing! She is everything I hope to be as I get older.
One day I called her to ask her about our family history. She preceded to tell me that she didn’t remember a lot, but not be she was getting old!!! She then told me how she would fake “getting old” and forgetting something just to drive Uncle Jack nuts! We were both cracking up! As would always tell “she was nuts” but in the most respectful and loving way!
Aunt Grace was truly one of my favorite people. I will miss her tremendously, especially at family parties. We will never be the same without her. I promise to honor her memory by dancing my heart out, even if I’m not good at it!
I’m sure she’s in heaven dancing to Papa and Uncle Tony playing music, and eating Grandma’s meals; all while looking down on her Alfano girls!
I will miss her!
