Richard G. Schaeffer, 96, of Dingmans Ferry, PA passed away at home on Thursday, September 10, 2020. He worked as a Master Machinist for Accurate Bushing Company in Garwood, NJ, was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church and was a proud United States Navy Veteran, having served in World War II. The son of the late Herman B. and Mary (Besold) Schaeffer, he was born on July 10, 1924 in New York, NY. He was married to Joan (Campbell) Schaeffer. Richard leaves behind his wife of 73 years, Joan Schaeffer; son, Gary Schaeffer and his wife, Kathy; daughter, Gail Ciandella; grandchildren, Michelle (Ciandella) Hills and her husband Steve, Ashley (Schaeffer) Porter and her husband Robert and Jason Boggs and his wife Cheryl and three great-grandchildren, Jay Thomas, Drew Porter and Luke Porter. He was pre-deceased by his son Gerard, twin brother Herman and sister Marylin (Cascio). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at St Vincent de Paul Church, 101 Saint Vincent Dr, Milford, PA 18337 with Reverend John Boyle officiating. Burial will follow at Delaware Cemetery, Delaware Twp., PA 18328 where military honors will be rendered.
