Kathleen Mary (McKean) Schields, age 89, passed away in Saint Cloud, Florida on Tuesday, July 28, 2020. She was born December 28, 1930, in the Bronx, New York to Harry and Katherine McKean. She married her devoted and loving husband, Vincent Emil Schields, on September 10, 1955, who preceded her in death on August 3, 2005. Kate was a confident and strong woman, however, she also possessed the gentleness and compassion requisite of any loving mother and Grandmother. She was skilled in cooking, sewing, and gardening. Kate always had a sweet tooth and could be found in the kitchen most nights after dinner looking for a bowl of chocolate ice cream, her favorite. Kathleen was a retired Postmaster for the United States Postal Service Her grandchildren will never forget the fun they had when visiting their grandparents in Shohola, Pennsylvania during the summer. Kate was doted upon by her grandchildren for her world-famous chocolate chip cookies. She was not afraid to have fun outdoors. Her favorite was watching her grandchildren spend time fishing, 4-wheeling and simply enjoying nature. Additionally, her grandchildren will always remember the excitement each year of finding out that their grandparents had officially arrived in Florida for the winter at their second home in Saint Cloud. Kathleen is survived by her daughter and husband, Patti and Andy Lang, of Saint Cloud, Florida; and her son, Tom of Shohola, Pennsylvania; her special grandsons Ian (and wife Alicia) and Collin Lang. Her precious granddaughter and best friend Camryn Lang (and boyfriend Conner). She was also blessed to have 2 adorable great-grandchildren Sophia and Oliver Lang. She will be missed. After 50 plus years of love, Kate and Vinny are together again. A Catholic Mass of Christian Burial and burial at German Hill Cemetery will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family.
