She was a daughter, a wife, a mother, a sister, an aunt, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, and a friend.
Eunice was an intelligent, hard working, authoritarian; she was a considerate, albeit, a guarded; proud woman.
She was my dad’s sister, a lady he held in high regard. I adored her. Some of my fondest memories are of dinners at Aunt Eunice & Uncle Al’s House, on Kensington Place, in Rockville Centre. Christmas Eve dinners there were the best! She could cook! Her pot roast is to die for. Over these 20 years or so when my sisters and brother would come up for visits, we always went home 5 lbs heavier! She started making lunch as we were cleaning up breakfast and at the same time she would say; “You’re staying for dinner right?” I know she wasn’t perfect, none of us are. I loved her, I respected her. I adored the fact that she and uncle Al were so very close to their grand, and great grand children, Kyle and Kylie called uncle Al, Poppa Hank - I loved and often share the fact that Aunt Eunice was known for a short while as poppa Hank’s mom! I will miss her.
