Obituary of Douglas J. Grady
Douglas J. Grady, 69, of Milford, PA passed away at Bon Secours Hospital, Port Jervis, NY, on Saturday, May 9, 2020. Douglas was a self-employed market research consultant, specializing in consumer goods. He was a member of the Milford United Methodist Church. An avid reader, Douglas spent much of his time lost in a book or volunteering at the local Boy Scout troop, library and his church. A lifelong Boy Scout, he found peace and serenity in nature and in mentoring Eagle candidates.
The son of the late Rodger and Thelma (Krebs) Grady, he was born on November 16, 1950 in Brooklyn, NY. He was married to his best friend and companion Linda (Swanson) Grady for 47 years. Doug leaves behind his loving wife, Linda Grady of Milford, PA, and children, James (Sanchaita) of St. Louis, MO, Andrew (Ling) of Nanning, GX, China, and Brenda Grady of Brooklyn, NY. He was the devoted grandfather of Kevin, Stephanie, Joey, Avinash and Anantim. Doug is also survived by his brothers, Rodger (Else) of Charlotte, NC, and Dennis (Carol) Grady of McCormick, SC, as well as five beloved nieces and one nephew, and his mother-in-law, Lucy Swanson, his sister-in-law Maria Swanson (partner Greg Hunt), of Forest Hills, NY, and brother-in-law, Roger Swanson of Los Angeles, CA. Although Doug was a true Brooklynite at heart, he had found peace and joy during his brief residence in Milford, where he was already known for his quiet and thoughtful contributions to his community.
A private graveside service will be held at the Milford Cemetery.
