Dennis was first cousin to me and all the Leary siblings. We, and I'll say especially I, knew him as a kind, generous and good-hearted person, erudite and thoughtful. He was a scholar and talented artist (Martha and I treasure a few pieces, which he kindly gifted us). Dennis found an artistic companion in my late mother, his Aunt Betty (Elizabeth Gallagher Leary). While Martha and I were in Florida during winter months, we would see Dennis and enjoy his warm hospitality. He was an enthusiastic cook and hosted lovely dinners for our small crowd. And he visited us from time to time as our Florida homes were just about twenty-five miles apart. We will miss Dennis's calm and thoughtful presence, his insight and good will.

My uncle Dennis was a great man and role model. He showed me from a young age that it pays off to be a good person. I will forever cherish my memories with him, and will carry on the McGowan name further in spirit. Rest in peace my dear uncle Dennis

Tribute to Dennis McGowan Dennis McGowan was a wonderful person, a great artist and chef. A good still life and scenic painter. I knew him for many years, I have a coloring book of cats in hats and he named an event for each pic like a shopping tri p or at a football game or at the beach. He picked color combos and a small story for each pic. He was a kind and nice man. Love Mary H.

In Loving Memory of Uncle Dennis, Uncle Dennis was greatly loved and will be deeply missed. He was a wonderfully attentive uncle—always supportive, always present, and always ready to help in countless ways over the years. I feel incredibly blessed to have spent so much time with him during the winters he shared with us in Florida. Those seasons were filled with meaningful moments: attending local gallery receptions, entering gallery shows together, experiencing the opera for the very first time, and celebrating holidays side by side. What I will cherish most is the laughter we shared. It came easily and often, and those memories will stay with me always. God bless him, now and forever. He will remain in our hearts.
