Joseph Earnest Loria Obituary

In Loving Memory of Joseph Earnest Loria

Joseph Loria, Father, brother, Uncle, cousin and friend... truly one of a kind. He was rough around the edges, with a dark sense of humor that could catch you off guard, but if you knew him, you knew that making people laugh was one of his greatest joys. He loved telling his stories, and if you sat with him long enough, you were sure to hear a few, each one told in a way only he could.

He was a hardworking man who spent many years as a plumber in Brooklyn before making a new life in Pennsylvania. There, he followed another passion and opened a pizzeria, where he got to do something he truly loved, cook. Food was his love language. Whether it was making zeppolis for a party or enjoying his favorites like pastrami on rye with Gulden’s mustard, oysters, or a perfectly cooked filet mignon, he appreciated the finer things in life when it came to food.

Family meant everything to him. He loved gathering together, playing cards, and simply being surrounded by the people he cared about most. But if there was one place he felt truly at peace, it was out on the water. Deep sea fishing wasn’t just a hobby—it was something he genuinely loved and looked forward to.

He is survived by his older brother Carl Loria, his sister Kathy Capitini, his children Joseph Loria, Suzanne Oamil, and Joshua Claus, along with his many grandchildren—Joey, Kaitlyn, Karlie, Trevor, Isabella, Samantha, Cassandra, and Angelia—and 13 great-grandchildren who will carry his memory forward.

He will be terribly missed by all of us. His stories, his laughter, his cooking, and his presence leave a space that can never truly be filled. But the love he gave and the memories we shared will stay with us always.

Calling hours will be held at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford St., Milford, PA on Thursday April 23, 2026 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
