Dolores Patricia McCollum Obituary
Dolores Patricia McCollum, 96, passed away on December 27, 2025. Born on January 5, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Emma Hess. After spending many years in Pennsylvania, she relocated to Charleston, South Carolina, following her retirement.
In her early years, Dolores worked as a waitress. Following the passing of her husband, Raymond, she showed great resilience by completing a refresher course at Stanton’s Commercial School in Honesdale. Upon her retirement, management remembered her as an exceptionally efficient, dependable, and dedicated member of their team.
Dolores was a woman of many passions. She was a Worthy Matron of Hope Chapter 9 of the Eastern Star. In her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo and cards, solving crossword puzzles, cooking and baking for her loved ones and caring for her beloved cats, especially her favorite, Reggie.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond McCollum Jr. (1926–1970); her brothers, Floyd and Ralph Hess; and her sisters, Catherine Clouse and Pauline Ugoline.
She is survived by her five children: Raymond McCollum III , Hawley, PA, Paul McCollum (and companion Kathy), Hawley, PA, Deb Roberts (and husband Eric), Beach Lake, PA, Denise Niersted (and husband Joe), Beaufort, SC, Darlene Tatman (and husband Ted), Summerville, SC.
