In Loving Memory of Kenneth Frank Ferris

January 8, 1941 – March 18, 2026

Kenneth Frank Ferris, a man defined by his sharp eye behind a lens and his gentle touch in the garden, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, in Morristown, NJ. He was 85 years old.

Born in Weehawken, NJ, Ken spent his professional life capturing the world as a Camera Man. A proud and dedicated member of the International Cinematographers Guild (Local 600), he brought a unique perspective to every frame he shot. His commitment to justice and civil liberties was equally steadfast, evidenced by his longtime membership in the ACLU.

While Ken made his living through a viewfinder, he found his greatest peace in the soil.

His garden was a deep passion —a living masterpiece that reflected his patience, hard work, and appreciation for beauty.

To Ken, a day spent tending to his plants was a day well-lived.

Another passion was Football, a New York Giants fan until the day he died.

Beyond his garden, Ken’s greatest wealth was his relationships. He was a man who deeply loved his friends, and that love was warmly returned by the "large host" of people who were lucky enough to call him a companion.

But his deepest passion and his greatest pride was his wife, Amy Ferris. They shared an extraordinary life for 34 years. Having met on a film –  Amy was the Screenwriter, Ken the Cameraman. The magic of movies, and their life was filled with magical moments.

Ken is survived by Amy, Molly, his beloved cat; and a vast community of friends who became his family over the decades.

In honoring Ken’s wishes, memorial services will be celebrated at a later date.
