Brenda Van Keuren, 80 of Cochecton, NY passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Garnet Health Medical Center, Middletown, NY with her sister, Linda Barrett, and other loved ones by her side. Brenda was retired from Marcel Dekker, Inc. where she worked in customer service. She also helped manage Van Keuren Landscaping.

The daughter of the late Noel and Blanche (Foster) Tetreault, she was born July 16, 1945 in Barre, VT. She was married to the late Douglas Van Keuren from 1996 until the time of his passing last year.

Brenda enjoyed crocheting and knitting as well as entertaining in her free time. She loved her pet dogs and cats as well as the animals in nature. Most recently, Brenda and her feline companion Gabby shared a special bond, so much so that Gabby enjoyed catching rides from room to room on the tray of Brenda’s walker. In years past, Brenda and Doug were always on the go visiting family and friends, attending penny socials and auctions. Together they enjoyed road trips near and far.

Brenda was one of twelve children and is survived by brothers, sisters and many nieces and nephews. She was a devoted stepmother, grandmother and greatgrandmother to her extended family;  Cindy Moudry (Tim), Debra Reuss, Todd Van Keuren (Connie) and Joseph Van Keuren (Rebecca); grandchildren, Corey Van Keuren (Alyssa), Chelsea Cunningham (Jeremy), Jenna Booth (Bo), Andrew Wyss (Ashlyn Jones), Tiffany Potts (Blake), Taylor Van Keuren (Lauren), Sean Reuss (Shelby), Brandi Coleman, Cally Sudduth (Scott)  and Morgan Van Keuren; great-grandchildren Shea, Rory, Avery, Maci, Eliana, Jaxon, Ella, Kilian, Ellis, Chase, Marina, Abel, Sadie, Walker, Lincoln and Parker, expected in July. Her generous, kind, loving, and gentle presence will truly be missed by us.

Annual Christmas Eve gatherings at their home were a tradition as were the August birthday celebrations for Doug which culminated in late night bonfires filled with stories and laughter. These memories will be treasured always.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026.
