Jolanda “Jean” Riccardi, 89, of Shohola, PA, formerly of South Plainfield, NJ, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis, NY. Born on May 4, 1936, in Woodbridge, NJ, Jean lived a life filled with love and laughter that left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Jean spent many joyful years in Pennsy, as she would call it, where she became not only the heart of her family but also a beloved bonus grandmother to countless family friends, neighbors, and especially the Baldasarre family who she loved as her own. If you were lucky enough to know her, you knew her warmth, quick wit, and ability to brighten any room she walked into. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome, loved, and entertained—often all at the same time. Full of life and always ready to celebrate even the small things, Jolanda had an unmistakable gift for turning ordinary moments into cherished memories.
She retired as a Floor Manager from Brooks Brothers in Edison, NJ, where her natural leadership, style, and humor made her just as treasured by her coworkers as she was by her family. She was also a proud member of the South Plainfield Elks Lodge BPOE #2298 Ladies Auxiliary, where her lively spirit and warm presence enriched many friendships.
Jean is survived by her son, Joseph Riccardi, and his wife Laurie of Shohola, PA; granddaughter Kimberly Christensen and her husband Erik of Shohola, PA; grandson Michael Riccardi and his wife Alexa of Milford, PA; and her four great-grandchildren—Bryleigh, Mikey, Cayden, and Camryn—who adored their “Grandma Jean” and filled her later years with joy. She is also survived by her sister, Kathryn Stankiewicz of Las Vegas, NV; many nieces and nephews; and countless dear friends, especially Ruth and Pat, who were truly family to her.
Jean was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Riccardi; her sisters, Rose Albanese and Mary Sabo; and her brothers, James Toth and Frank Toth.
Jean’s legacy lives on in the laughter she inspired, the love she freely gave, and the memories shared by everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever celebrated.
