George S "Boojack" Venable Obituary

On November 12, 2025 loving Husband, Father, Brother, Nephew, cherished Pop Pop, and devoted friend George Sanders Venable, known to most as Boojack was welcomed home to our father in heaven. While our hearts are heavy, we take solace in knowing he is now resting in eternal peace.


Born on May 12, 1951, in Prince Edward County, Virginia, George was the beloved son of the late Clem and Molly (Branch) Venable. George was one of 11 children including four brothers; Martin Venable, Samuel Branch, Preston Venable and the late Clem Jr Venable and 6 sisters Elsie Wiliams, Tinnie Jones, Mary Ross, Clara Shepardson, Theresa Hines, and the late Caroline Venable. 


George spent many of his early years working as a lumberjack, he lived a life characterized by dedication and commitment. Prior to his retirement, he was a devout and respected worker at Tilcon New York Inc. in Mount Hope, Wharton, New Jersey, where he poured his energy and integrity into his work for over thirty fulfilling years.


George is Survived by his loving and devoted wife Mae King Venable of 47 years and their five children, son Barry Venable and his wife Erika Venable, George Venable Junior, Manuelle Venable, Daevon Venable, and his Daughter Josette Venable. George had 3 children prior to his marriage to Mae and is survived by his Daughter Tanya Frances, son Charles Hickson, and is predeceased by his Daughter Edna Wade. 


George leaves behind a family who will forever cherish his memory and the countless moments of warmth and laughter he provided including 18 grandchildren who he cherished, An uncle, and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.


Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects at the Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford Street, Milford, Pennsylvania, on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 12 PM to 1 PM


A graveside service and committal will follow at 1:30 PM on the same day at the Delaware Cemetery, Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania. The service will be officiated by Reverend Keith Raser.
