Stephen Rickard Bumball Obituary

Stephen Rickard Bumball of Dingmans Ferry passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19th at his home on Rickard's Lake.


Stephen was born on January 1, 1960, to Stephen W. Bumball and Verna Rickard Bumball. He grew up in Mountainside, NJ and was a graduate of Jonathon Dayton High School in Springfield, NJ. He attended Bryant College and later graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in business. 


After exploring various opportunities, Steve found his calling at Timmerman Equipment Company of Whitehouse, NJ. He excelled as a sales representative of municipal equipment for 33 years and was well recognized for his hard work, dedication and integrity.


Stephen was known as well for his love of antiques and collectibles. Starting with a box of buttons from his grandparents, he amassed a huge collection of political memorabilia and was a life-long member of the APIC - American Political Items Collectors. Steve proudly served as Delaware Township Supervisor from 1996 thru 2001. In his spare time, he enjoyed boxing, collecting autographs and playing guitar. He was a co-founder of the Asbury Park Rock and Roll Museum and was instrumental in recognizing and promoting the importance of preserving Asbury Park's musical history.


Stephen is survived by his mother, Verna Bumball, of Dingmans Ferry, his sister, Laurie Jean Smith and husband, "Cook" of Loch Arbour, NJ, nephews Christopher (Catherine) and Adam (Cassandra) and their children, and niece Karla Smith as well as many much-loved cousins and friends. Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Stephen, and his wife, Kathleen.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Stroyan Funeral Home 405 W. Harford  Street Milford, PA and will include visitation from 6-8 pm on Wednesday October 29th with a service and memory share at 7:30.


A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date in New Jersey.
