Gerard “Jerry” Minihan, age 83, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, just six days shy of his 84th birthday.
Born on August 11, 1941, in Ireland, Jerry immigrated to the United States at the age of 16 in search of opportunity and a new beginning. He made his home in New York City, where he spent much of his life building a legacy rooted in hard work, resilience, and stories worth telling.
Jerry worked for many years as a building manager with Local 32BJ in one of Manhattan’s most elite neighborhoods. It was there that he collected a lifetime of colorful stories about the rich and famous—stories he loved to share with family and friends. A natural storyteller, he brought humor, warmth, and life to every tale.
A proud U.S. Army veteran, Jerry served his country in Vietnam and Korea and carried that sense of duty and pride with him throughout his life.
Later, he settled in Dingmans Ferry, PA, where he found peace by the lake. Most days, he could be found in his favorite chair, gazing out over the water praying for his family with his devoted dog, May, by his side and his loving wife, Aurea, nearby.
Jerry was preceded in death by his second wife, Dorothy, in 2014. He is survived by his wife Aurea; his four sons—Michael, Brian, William, and John—whom he shared with his first wife, Ethel; 19 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved deeply and spoke of often.
Jerry’s charm, strength, and storytelling spirit will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
Calling hours will be held at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford St., Milford, PA on Sunday, August 10, 2025 from 2 – 4PM. A service will follow at the Stroyan Funeral Home at 4 PM with Rev. Binesh Kanjirakattu officiating.
