Obituary of Bernice Stanley

On Saturday, June 28, 2025, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Bernice Stanley, peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on August 13, 1938, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Bernice was the daughter of the late William Thomas and Florence (Ryan) O'Connell, Sr. She was a devoted wife to the late William Stanley, with whom she shared a life filled with love and laughter. Together, they created a family that became the center of her world.

Bernice is survived by her son, William Stanley and daughter-in-law Lori Stanley of Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania, and her cherished grandson, Colin Stanley, who brought her immense joy. She is also remembered fondly by her siblings, Robert O'Connell and sister-in-law Arlene O’Connell of Cedar Grove, New Jersey, and Dorothy Biscuiti of Queens, New York. Bernice was preceded in death by her son Eric R. Stanley, and her siblings, William Thomas O'Connell Jr., Patricia O'Connell, and Marilyn Peters, who she loved dearly.

Bernice's life serves as a reminder that happiness often lies in the simplest pursuits. Her love for family, shopping, and dining out painted a portrait of a life well-lived. Her laughter and feistiness will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.

Cremation was held privately at the family's convenience, honoring Bernice's wishes. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
