Obituary of John Francis Stack
John “Jack” Francis Stack passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, May 10, 2025.
Born on April 3, 1932, in Middletown, New York, Jack was the son of the late John and Edna Mae (Rimel) Stack. He attended Staunton Military Academy in Virginia, where he played football and developed a lifelong love for the game. After graduating, Jack pursued an electrical engineering degree in Chicago until he was drafted into the U.S. Army to serve during the Korean War—a duty he carried out with honor and pride.
Jack was a devoted family man, deeply committed to supporting his children and grandchildren in all their endeavors. He truly cherished each and every one of them and took immense pride in their accomplishments. Jack was known for his boundless energy, love of dancing, and the special bond he shared with his beloved Boston Terrier, Bubba. Remarkably, he continued working out at the gym five days a week until January of this year.
A man with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, Jack enjoyed a diverse and successful career. He began his professional journey with GE, then worked as a salesman for Pitney Bowes, later partnered in an ice business, and ultimately founded Horizon Heights, where he became a respected and innovative builder. He was widely admired for his meticulous craftsmanship, commitment to community projects, and his ability to bring creativity and innovation to everything he did.
Later in life, Jack discovered his true passion when he created The Gardens at Catlin Creek, a catering and hotel business surrounded by lavish gardens and fountains. He lovingly tended the grounds himself, often telling visitors he was “just the gardener.”
Jack is survived by his partner, Theresa Johnson; his children with Camille Stack: Stephanie (Frank), John (Jennifer), Chris (Mark), and Leah (predeceased by husband Matthew); and his former wife, Camille. He was a proud grandfather to Derek(Sam) , Devan, Alexa, Jaime, Jake, and Jack. He was predeceased by his grandson, Justin.
He is also survived by Theresa’s children: Thomas (Sandee) and their children Sean, Ryan, Alyssa (Luis), and granddaughter Ellika; and Timothy (Heidi) and their children Colton and Dillon. Jack is also survived by his sister Mary Stack Logan and his brother Peter Stack.
A military service will be held on June 6th at the Goshen Veterans Cemetery at 12:00.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford Street, Milford, PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association in Jack’s memory.
And as Jack would say, “Two thumbs up, two pennies in the bank.”
